Success is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the farther it stays out of reach. That’s the reason some folks hit it, and some others just can’t seem to get off the merry-go-round. So, we get to ask ourselves, “What’s the problem? Why do people keep struggling and failing all the time?” Mismanagement maybe. Perhaps there’s too much zeal without knowledge. Perhaps, too many people try to live other people’s dreams, trying to copy what they see others succeed in. So here comes the shocker: Don’t run after success!
…go for purpose instead.
Success is only an outcome, and purpose is the destination. Purpose is what gives success meaning. When purpose is not known, success is obscure. You might want to ask yourself, “What am I born to do?” Hey…it’s okay if you can’t put them into words clearly yet. You can keep asking yourself these questions:
“What are those things that come natural to me?”
“What motivates me beyond money?”
There are certain things that go beyond material rewards. Things you wouldn’t mind doing for free over and over. Note them and start building your dreams around them because your dreams are fragments of your purpose. But don’t spend all day dreaming and dreaming. But some actions into it. Get trained. Keep practicing. Yes! Keep burning…until the dancer becomes the dance.
