Just yesterday, now my eyes cannot see.
It was too good to be true, I knew.
The chill and fire a single time,
Butterflies and chemistry,
The heart and her cruel pangs,
The moments we shared,
Are all gone;
With people’s cheer,
And the hope we shared,
But now that you have fled,
Like a bird freed from its cage,
They poured out into the murky depths,
All that is left now is nothing but
An infinity of breathless darkness.
Let’s do this together! I would like hear from you. To feature in Wednesday Express, please send your short stories, poems, or articles to firstname.lastname@example.org
